Ishizawa laboratory is now requiring the postgraduate student (entrance in April 2025) who can be active in the field of simulation and theory of fusion research and plasma physics. Aiming at the advance of nuclear fusion as a carbon-neutral energy resource, and space/astrophysics dominated by plasma dynamics, we are researching the following topics by means of numerical simulations on supercomputers and statistical/turbulence/chaos theories in physics.

• (1) Theory and numerical simulations for turbulence and spontaneous structure formation in fusion plasmas
• (2) Theory and numerical simulations for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) phenomena in fusion and space plasmas
• (3) Mathematical modeling of nonlinear plasma dynamics based on a data-driven approach
• (4) Experiment and numerical simulations for the confinement of laser-driven high energy density plasmas

In our laboratory, we provide education and research related to theories and simulations from a long-term perspective, including doctoral courses, with the aim of cultivating human resources who will be responsible for the next generation of plasma physics and related fields related to the above research topics. We hope for the participation of motivated students who match this policy.
